The Centre for Defence Enterprise (CDE) is the Ministry of Defence’s gateway for industry, academia and innovators to help ensure our Armed Forces are best equipped now and in the future.

CDE provides a rapid response with a range of advice, assistance and research funding to help ensure that our Armed Forces have access to the best equipment, science and technology, now and in the future.

To help you better understand the challenges and needs of the UK’s Armed Forces, CDE hosts regular seminars as an opportunity to meet MOD experts and decision makers and to help explain the specific challenges and issues faced by our Armed Forces.

CDE, in partnership with the University of Glasgow and Scottish Enterprise, is delighted to be able to present this seminar, which is specifically designed to provide attendees with a wide spectrum of information concerning science and technology challenges in MOD.

At the seminar key members of the MOD research and technology community will highlight the various challenges and issues faced by our Armed Forces as well as the opportunity to network with them during the day. The programme will cover:

  • MOD Research Programme incl the Defence Technology Plan and Capability Visions,
  • Support to Operations,
  • Counter Terrorism
  • Energy efficient Forward Operating Base
  • Lightweight soldier systems, including personal protection, batteries and fuel cells
  • Materials and associated technologies
  • Sensor technologies
  • Battlefield casualty care
  • How CDE works and funding opportunities

 

This seminar will take places on Thursday 29th April 2010 beginning at 09:30 and ending at 16:30.
