Fabreeka International and Tech Products are supplying their products to the U.S. Department of Defense, who are increasing production of variants to their Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, to provide better protection to troops from roadside bombs.

MRAP NavistarWith the requirement to increase the survivability of Soldiers and Marines involved in roadside IED bombings in Iraq and Afghanistan, the U.S. Department of Defense has ramped up production of a number of variants of MRAP vehicles (pictured left) to offer better protection.

From the initial request by the marines, the number and variants has grown considerably as reports grew that roadside bomb attacks and fatalities were down almost 99 per cent, partially due to MRAPs.

MRAP partsBoth Fabreeka and Tech Products have significant product placement on a number of these vehicles with engineered products such as chassis mounts, suspension components, and resilient equipment mounts.

Commenting on the increased protection given by the vehicles, Admiral Michael Mullen, U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said "They've taken hits, many, many hits that would have killed Soldiers and Marines in unarmoured Humvees."
