Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH & Co. (KMW) leads the European market for armoured wheeled and tracked vehicles. At locations in Germany, Greece, the Netherlands and the USA, some 3400 employees develop, manufacture and support a unique product portfolio.
KMW aims to outfit Europe with mobile military might. The front line of KMW's business consists of wheeled and tracked armored vehicles, ranging from heavy main battle tanks (LEOPARD) to lighter armored multipurpose wheeled vehicles (4x4s, 6x6s, 8x8s).
The company also makes artillery, anti-aircraft, combat engineering vehicles, and armour protection kits for passenger cars, among other things. KMW was formed in 1999 by the merger of Krauss-Maffei Defense Technologies and Wegmann & Co.
